Documents required for a VAD

First Step to Apply for VAD:

To begin your application, please complete the fields requesting your personal information. This information is required to generate your biography and your data sheet.

At this stage, upload only the following documents:

  • Your most recent medical records

  • A scanned copy or clear photograph of your passport

For all subsequent steps in the process, your Dossier Supervisor will guide you and provide direct assistance.

Amongst others, the following documents are required a bit later from everybody regardless of marital status:

  • Passport (or ID used to cross the border into Switzerland). Please make sure you uploaded or e-mailed a scan or good photo thereof and bring the original to the VAD.

  • Proof of residence (Copy the first sheet of your tax return with your current full address on it.)

  • Your long-form birth certificate (with parents’ full names, usually obtained from a government Registry Office)

    • Must be re-issued in the last 6 months prior to your VAD date
