Aims & Objectives

The aims and objectives of Pegasos include:

  • to cut some of the red tape (in terms of the way paperwork is handled)
  • to minimise waiting time (allowing for urgent situations to be accepted in a matter of weeks not months)
  • to offer a service that has English as its first language (cutting the risk of things being lost in translation)

Red Tape

Over the past two decades in Switzerland it has been a common complaint by those applying to other assisted dying services that the amount of paperwork required is both laborious and exhaustive. The paperwork becomes a major challenge, especially if a person is very ill or very old.

Pegasos’ online platform simplifies the process for the gathering and submission of the paperwork required under Swiss law.

Waiting Times

Following from Pegasos’ more streamlined approach to applications, waiting times for an assisted death can also be significantly shortened. With a smaller, more responsive team, Pegasos is also able to be more flexible to accommodate individual needs.

English Language

Pegasos is both a Swiss & English language service. As many people seeking our help are from English-speaking countries, it makes sense that some of our staff speak your language. No more broken-English website translations. No more ‘lost in translation’ communications.
