D’s ashes arrived yesterday.

I just wanted to reach out and say ‘thank you’ from all of us for your assistance in helping D complete his journey and life with the dignity he desired.

From the point of first contact with T to D’s final day, Pegasos found a way to accommodate us and give D his final wish.

Even though there was a slight hiccup on the day with the location, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer, more peaceful location for D to depart the world. You made sure we were looked after and the day went to plan.

Personally, I think we had the nicer option.

If you ever make the journey to our country half way around the world, and need support or advocacy, please let me know. I’m pretty sure I speak for the 3 of us when I say we are behind what you do and what Pegasos stands for.

What D chose to do has opened up conversations with many people. Most of who, wished they either had the choice or knew of the choice when their family needed it.

They know now thanks to D

The support, as a family we’ve received and the stature D has been placed in for his decision to do VAD has been incredible.

At D’s memorial we had between 3-400 friends there and not one person had a negative comment about D’s choice.

His legacy as a man who found a way to help others is now forever entrenched in everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

Thanks again Ruedi, to you and your team.

We will be forever grateful.
