Upon completion of an online VAD application, the Pegasos team thoroughly reviews every application while preparing a file for the Pegasos doctor/ psychiatrist.
On approval, a mutually-acceptable VAD calendar date can be set.
If the supporter suffers from a neurological condition, the approval process is likely to take around 4 weeks.
For all others, (eg. situations of unbearable suffering/ completed life), faster approval times may be possible.
Approval will be communicated via email, followed by phone contact with a member of the Pegasos team. The Pegasos team member will be the designated primary contact person for you and your family/ friends from this time onwards. He/ she will be available via both email and phone.
The VAD date may be scheduled for a few weeks or months time, depending on the urgency of need.
It is advised that you should arrive at our recommended hotel in Liestal at least a day or two before the VAD date, along with your family and friends (of course).
This extra day or two allows time for consultations with the Pegasos team and for paperwork to be checked to ensure it complies with Swiss law and regulations.
